During times of huge uncertainty, often the only control we have is choosing where to place our focus and energy.


Our natural disposition is to fill in the blanks and jump to conclusions. When we have no idea what tomorrow may bring, this makes it easy to disaster-ise and allow our focus and thinking to spiral. We need to be prepared for the worst, yet most of us spend 90% of our time focusing on the worst that never happens, burning all that wasted energy.


Decades of experiences and influences have made us who we are. In this module, we consider the benefits of switching off our auto-pilot mode to define healthier habits and behaviours.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the importance of switching off our auto-pilot to reflect on our reactions and responses

  • Make a conscious commitment to focus on what we can control

  • Learn simple techniques to address Imposter Syndrome and quieten the inner critic when it shouts the loudest
